My car is a 94 pontiac gramd am gt about 135000 plus miles. There is a wire on the back side of my 2 front tires. They have a plug on them and they plug into something on the back of the tire. I really cant see. Well the problem is that the passanger side one has broken off and is dangeling. I need to know what this is and if it is crutial to get fixed. And if so about how muck $$ itll cost. Just spent a bunch getting coil housing replaced. The reasoning for the wire problem is that when I turn it makes a kind of popping like vibrating sound like the hole tire is loose and if I turn it to far it squeeks like there will be mo tomarrow. It even squeeks if im not moving then its if I turn it any distance. But I need to know soon because I havea trip to go on and its like a 6 hr dirve. And I need to know if its safe. PLEASE HELP ME!

Do you have an abs light on? Sounds like the abs harnesses the go to the wheel speed sensor.

The squeak noise makes me think the brakes are down to the warning sensors.

JAck the front end up, block it so it's stable. Grab the wheel in the 3 and nine position and push and pull to feel for play. Then do the same for the 6 and 12 position. Do you feel any play? This is to check for wheel bearing, steering or suspension problems as long as you have it up.

Pull wheels off and look to see how thin the pads are and then at the same time see where the dangling wires are going.
