1999 Pontiac GrandAM SE 6 cylinders 68,000 miles

The 'low coolent' light came on (while the engine temp remains in the mid range ~200F) so I replenished the coolent. The dealer says that there is a leak in water pump and intake manifold. The dealer wants to replace both from $1,000. It will take 1 day of labor. Does the problem and price make sense? Please help.
