1983 Pontiac Other Repair Question

Models starter
Engine Mechanical problem
1983 Other Pontiac Models V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 97,000 miles
i have replace starter twice
sounds good first turn
but then second turn over makes loud noise
cracks starter have to replace again
1983 transam
is this fly wheel or electrical problem?
