1979 Other Pontiac Models Won't Start

1979 Other Pontiac Models 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 70000 miles
My Phoenix won't start but is in perfect condition. It has been very well taken care of and not driven very much despite the fact that it is 30 years old. It won't start and i think that it may be the ignition switch. what are some ways of checking this to see if it may be something else?
