1966 Other Pontiac Models trouble shooting
The engine is a 389, three duces, 4 speed. The engine suddenly started smoking from the oil filler cap in the valve cover. The engine runs well at high or low rpm and idles well. The plugs look good and there is no evidence of a blown head gasket. How do I trouble shoot this? Thanks for your help.

check your pcv valve for operation. Sometimes the hose blocks up and stops the pcv from working correctly. You may have to replace the hose and a good idea to replace the pcv at the same time. If it still smokes then check the engine for leakdown. That is something you won't be able to do.
