Hi Everybody,
This is my first post so please be patient and my donation is made.
My steering gearbox is leaking.
Is that normally something I can remove and take to mechanic to reseal?
If not, I have about 4 choices of gear ratios to choose from if I get a new one.
How do I know which one is best for my car, 1972 pontiac lemans sport convertible stock 350, 3 speed automatic with 68,000 mile.
I have time to send it somewhere to be rebuilt if needed or economically feasable.
Thanks

The tighter ratio will just make it respond quicker to turns of the wheel, it is kind of a personal preference as to what you like. Finding someone to reseal isnt impossible, but that is kind of old school now days. If you want to keep it original then search out a capable tech to rebuild it for you
