My Grand Prix takes a while to start. When I start it the Starter engages immediately and sounds strong. To be safe I took it off and had it tested at AZone. They said it was still good, but that the wheel wobbled a tiny, but that shouldn't affect it. Eventually, the Neutral Switch went out, had that replaced but the starter still takes a few seconds or tries to get the engine started.

Hi Brad Eadens, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for donation

Could be the battery and loose connection, or the starter motor overrunning clutch is slipping that sounds like a weak battery and slowly turns the engine over and then catches and the ignition switch

When the starter engages it is not sluggish or slow, it sounds good. It begins to start like a normal car but the just keeps turning over

If its cranking over and will not start-do below to determine if its fuel or spark problem and then come back with some testing results-we start here

Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine at least 3/16 away from ground -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/COP/coil packs, coil's resistances, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it.
