I have a 94 Grand Am with 176,000 miles. The engine will run but when it reaches 130 degrees it shuts off. No warning, no Check Engine, just quits. Any recommendations would be helpful.

Thank you,
Jeff

Ok, an update on this problem.

The battery was dead so I charged it for 8 hours, the car will start and run, until it reaches 130 degrees. I asked a local parts person if he had ever heard of this type of problem, he recommended the Nuetral Safety Switch. The car is an automatic 6 cylinder. He said the switch is designed to shut the engine down when the car reaches a certain temperature but it shouldn't be 130 it should be almost double that. Has anybody else heard or had this problem.

Thank you,
Jeff
