Should the front brake pads wear out evenly

2007 Pontiac G6 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 32500 miles
Should I get more than 32K miles on the front brake pads and do they wear out fairly evenly? I had to replace them and was told it was normal. I think something else has caused this I have never had to replace brakes before replacing the tires.

In a perfect world, the pads would wear evenly. However, that usually isn't the case. As far as the mileage, if you got 32K out of front brakes, you did well.
