2002 Pontiac Firebird cooled after charge but soon quit

2002 Pontiac Firebird V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 65,000 miles
we had the air charged and within a few days it was messed up again. a few months ago gm replaced the heater core due to it leaking. could they have messed up anything that tied into the air system? we'd never had a problem with it until now.

my a/c makes a loud humming noise just on high speed but when i touch this part it quits its behind glove box
