Clunking noise, 96 bonneville

1996 pontiac bonneville SE, 127K miles. I have owned this car for two weeks, and it makes an obvious clunking noise out of the front passenger wheel area when i turn left or hit a bump with the front passenger tire. I have driven it like that for a while, and no problems have arisen, but i am really unnerved by that noise and want to know what the cause is before i end up standed somewhere. My dad thinks it's a u-joint. I know some about cars, but little about suspensions etc.

Three obvious problems:
1.Tie-rod
2.Balljoint
3.Strut
Jack up that wheel and move the tire around and look for excessive play. That will be you problem area.
