PUT IN NEW FUEL FILTER, TESTED THE FUEL PUMP AND REGULATOR ALL GOOD. STARTS RUNS FINE FOR ABOUT 5 MINS, STARTS TO GET ROUGH (LIKE STARVING FOR FUEL AND QUITS. SOME TIMES IT WILL START RIGHT BACK UP AND OTHERS BAD IDLE AND STOPS. AND A BAD SMELL AFTER I START IT AND THE IDLE IS STILL BAD?

Have you checked to see if the catyatic converter is plugged? Also, when you checked the fuel pressure, was it during one of the problem times? Finally, has the check engine light ever come on?

Dont know about the cat, seem to have a good flow out of the tail pipe, and yes I left the gage on till it stalled (pressure was at 55 when it stalled and went to 48 after the pump stopped. Still had spark during the down time

If you maintained both fuel pressure and spark, then either you have a bad vacuum leak or the converter is causing too much back pressure.
