I am haveing a problem with the instrument cluster. At least that is what I think it is. The speedometer went off along with the mileage and all the gauges. The engine check light stays on and so does the abs light. I have a 1997 plymouth grand voyager se. Can you possibly help[ with this.

I'm not sure on the 97 models, but the 2002 has a procedure to pull codes out of the cluster. Just cluster codes though. The pcm has additional codes that need to be retreived from it. There may be multiple problems.

120,000 6 cyl: Hi there, did you ever solve this problem? I have exactly the same problem. It seems pretty common, but no one seems to follow up if they are actually finding the solution.

Sure would appreciate a reply. Thanks, Kim :)

Kim,

There isn't any one fix. The most typical solution to your descripion of symptoms is a bad BCM, followed by a bad PCM, followed by a bad instrument cluster and lastly bad wiring under the battery tray from corrosion. It's a fairly complex testing procedure that is best left to a professional. IF you take it to a shop, make sure that you ask them if they have had to troubleshoot this in the past on this type of vehicle or you will get into an outrageous amount of troubleshooting costs.
