94 Voyager blown head gasket

Hello. I blew a head gasket in the middle of a trip just before Thanksgiving. I was sure that was the problem. The guy who came to tow my car showed me the "milkiness" of my crankcase oil. I got an estimate, including replacing the water pump and timing belt which he recommended, of $1600 including tax. Is that way too much? Is it reasonable? I'd had the car a little over 2 years and it has been a great vehicle with few problems. Is it worth the reinvestment? Any help is appreciated.

Im afraid that sounds about right. Sorry. If the car is in great shape and its been very good to you then maybe you should consider doing this. But I will say try to get several other opinions, who knows, may be you can come off with a cheaper deal
