Engine Cooling problem

What is the upper temp. limit I should see in the summer in the mid-west. I have a aftermarket temp. gauge and a 180 degree thermostat, 22lb cap, new water pump and radiator.

it depends on a couple of things. How accurate is the gauge? Where is it mounted? if it is mounted in the head it will read hotter than your thermostat. If you have a new radiator but not enough core rows teh car will run hotter. As long as you are running under 230 degrees ALL THE TIME then you should be ok. There are additives that you can buy at an auto parts store that help cool and do work. If you are running about 210 don't worry about it.
