1993 plymouth acclaim 11184.05 miles 4 cylinder 2.5 L
For the past few years that the car has been owned by my dad it has made a squeeling noise. He bought it and it was fine for about a year then the noise started. He took it in and they said it was the adjuster screw for the alternator. They didnt have a extra but they rigged something up and it was fine for about a month, then it started again. A few years later, which was a few months ago he gave the car over to me now im trying to fix the problem. The place I took it into replaced the belts and the break pads, both needing to be replaced badly anyways. The squeel went away for a few hours but came back not even the next day. I took it back in and they said it was the alternator. So I replaced the entire bracket holding the alternator and the alternator its self and it still makes a harsh squeeling noise that gets louder when you rev the engine. I dont know what to do from here. Please help asap

You should check the alternator and ac compressor belt strecher. In some cases as far as I know if it's a poor quality belt it make noises. It could be the alternator too but in most cases the belts are the one causing noise problems.
I have a Acclaim 94 and it has some noises too, but are acceptable (not too loud).
Good luck.

Well thats the thing, I bought a brand new alternator, and the ac pump its self is missing, I took it out and have never gotten around to replacing it yet
i figure the screech is more important

Another interesting thing is the faster the engine runs the faster and louder the noise gets
