My truck overheated last night. When it did, it went into protect mode shutting down some of the injectors as it is supposed to. Today I replaced the themosat. It did refire, but still ran rough, then died. I started thinking temp sensor, replace that and now it wont start at all. I seems like its not getting any fuel. I cant here the fuel pump.
Do you think its just cruel irony that the fuel died while trying to fix my overheating issue? Or, is something I dont know about need to be reset to restore fuel?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello,

While its not improbable for the fuel pump to stop working but they are not related issues.

First you need to check the fuel pump relay. It could have shorted out.
The relay is located under the hood in the junction box (see diagram below).
Look for any burnt pin(s) on the relay.

You can also test the relay.

You also need to check the fuel pressure regulator. A faulty regulator will cause the fuel to not flow properly.

Please let me know of any questions.

Thank you.
