2002 Opel Corsa Water from radiator ruins car engine?
Engine Cooling problem
2002 Opel Corsa 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 25000 miles
My car stopped working and the mechanic says that due to a leak in radiator, the water got into the engine and completely rusted its parts, eventually ruining it. The mechanic says the only solution is to replace the engine.
Does this cause make sense? I thought that radiator uses coolant to pass to the engine, and not water, so how come water got into the engine?

A leak in the radiator would not cause water or coolant to enter the engine !! a mixture of anti-freeze and water should be used as a coolant for vehicle's
