1984 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Not backing up

Vehicle doesn't move, when switched into reverse. When I floor the pedal, the vehicle creeps backwards slowly. Runs fine in forward gears. Had changed trans fluid and filter 5000 mi ago. Fluid level checks out ok. Any chance to fix without a trans rebuild?

A transmission rebuild should cure the fault .. sounds like the reverse clutches are burned out or bound up and need replacing !!
