My 1989 olds cutlass ran great until two days ago.It started sputtering while driving at 50 mph as if it were running out of gas. When I got it home and turned it off it would not start again.I checked the fuel pump and filter, they both seemed fine so I put them back on and tried to start it again. This time it started immediately but when I pressed down on the accelerator it began sputtering again.I turned off the ignition and tried to restart it but it wouldn't start again.Do you think you can help me?

Are you getting both spark and fuel to the engine? Something tells me it is fuel related since it started for you after checking the pump and filter. Let me know about spark and if the car will start with starting fluid.
