2004 Oldsmobile Alero 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 35,000 miles

There is a sound of air rushing into the passenger compartment but no air movement is felt. Adjusting the fans, air conditioning etc changes nothing. The faster the vechile is traveling, the loader the noise. Any idea what causes it or how to eliminate it?
