On a V6 you will have 3 of them, one on each BANK, and one after the converter. Bank one is between the manifold and the converter, on the number one cylinder bank, bank 2 sensor one is on the other side, scan for codes and if there is a problem, the scanner will read from the cars computer and tell you which one(s) are bad.

It comes before the catalytic converter. On V-6 engines, '96 and newer, there may be two of them, one for each side of the engine, and in that case they could be screwed into the exhaust manifolds. When there's only one upstream sensor, it is often screwed into the exhaust pipe right in front of the catalytic converter.

This is from Mitchell On Demand. It's the only diagram I can find with an oxygen sensor, but there is likely another sensor on the front manifold. You can get the same information by clicking on the "Repair and Service" tab on the top of this page, then on "Manuals".

Pulled the 02 wire's out of the plug, duh me. The two wires coming out of the sensor is black and the other one is white. The connection plug wires on the wiring harness is black and the other one looks like blue with a white stripe. Does black go to black? Thank you
