When I drive for a while then come to a stop the car stutters like it wants to cut off and I have to consistantly pat the gas and hold it to the floor for the car to start going again and then it will be okay again until I stop or put my foot on the gas slowly.
Do you
have the same problem?

I am not a Transmission Tech but if memory serves me correctly, we repaired a string of GM vehicles where the solenoid that controls the lock up of the torque converter does not release and would give the symptoms you described. Sediment collects in the solenoid preventing the release of the pressure that locks up the converter. It would give the same feeling of driving a manual transmission and coming to a stop without pushing in the clutch.
