I recently had a friend replace my ignition switch which means I have a new key. If I use my automatic door remote to lock the car my "security" light comes on. Now the car will not start. We went through this one time before but just unhooked the battery and let the computer reset itself, or so we thought. It is not working this time. Please help.

You will go through relearn procedure so computer will recognize new key. This is a easy process so dont panic. First make sure you have a fully charged battery and turn off all accessories and attempt to start car and then leave key on and the theft light will flash for about ten minutes then go out. Once light goes out turn off key and try to start car and leave key in run position and watch theft light flash for another ten minutes and when it goes out repeat process one more time. This will sometimes take after the first time but other times it will take the 3 cycles. Yes its boring and will take you a half hour but it will work. Hope this helps
