I need to remove the vibration damper in order to remove the timing chain cover.
Is the damper bolt a left or right hand thread?
I assumed it was a right hand thread and have broken a wrench trying to turn it counterclockwise. Is it possible that its a left hand thread?

Any advise to remove this old rusted on bolt?

many thanks for the info

Thanks DocFixit,
I was sure somebody out there could answer this for me.
I would have felt really BAD if I had been trying to turn it the wrong way.
That's 220 lb torgue plus 20 years of heat and rust.
Would it help to try and soak it with WD40 or some other penetrant? Could that stuff actually penetrate something this old?

Thanks again!
