Electrical problem
1986 Oldsmobile 98 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 159k miles
My serpentine belt broke 3 weeks ago taking out the crank shaft sensor. I replaced it and then a week later while going to work it just quit. so I had it towed to a place neerby. they replaced the ignition control module, cam shaft sensor, crank shaft sensor again and tried a used ecm chip. Still quits after running for 5-10 minutes. So I took it to a GM dealer. they said it was the ignition control module. so I bought one from Advance auto. Same thing. Thinking that the cam and crank shaFT SENSOR CONNECTORS WERE BAD i REPLACED THOSE AS WELL. I also put another used Ignition control module in as the GM tech said he would not trust the one from advance. same thing, it quits abruptly after about 5 minutes. and won't start until some time later.
