Engine Performance problem
1984 Oldsmobile 98 V8 Automatic
Hi Im 17 and the pround owner of my grandfathers old 1984 oldmobile. A couple of months ago i went over to my girlfriends house to pick her up, and her dad heard my engine and said "it was running hot" and adjusted the idle speed, problem solved..... then. Now I am afraid to say that if my car sits at a stop for too long when I give it the gas my car shuts off. Usually I have this problem when I have less than half a tank of gas. From the little I know about cares I can tell the idle needs to be corrected. Can you give me any advice that can help me fix my problem? Without taking it to a mechcanic!
