No power while driveing and lurches

The car will not go over 55mph and can not climb hills and luches when driveing at fixed pase I have just bought this car today as I didnt notice it at fiest as I assumed it was a slow car but I am trying to use this for my grndmother who is sevirly disabled and can not get into a regular car so I thort this would be perfickt please help

The first things I would recommend checking would be to make sure the catalytic converter isn't plugged and check the fuel pump pressure to make sure it is within the manufacturer's spec.
