AC works fine for a while - a few minutes, a few miles. Sometimes 20 miles. Then - no cold air. Compressor still running. Blower fine. Press button to turn off AC. Wait 4 or 5 minutes. Press button again, works fine. Rinse and repeat. Hotter the ambient temp, worse this problem is. Quest recharge / diag tool just gives error light with no real indication of what is wrong. Overcharge? Undercharge? Tried putting freon in, takign it out. Suspect some soret of pressure / temp sensor or something. Really uncomfortable in summer traffic jams!

Hi raymac, Welcome to 2carpros and TY forthe donation

Hard to say where its coming from could be one of the following: Could be freezing up due to air and moisture forming ice and blocking off the orifice tube, faulty low pressure cut off swith, voltage drop to the magnetic clutch, bad temperature sensor and HVAC control head.
