2004 Nissan Titan door locks

2004 Nissan Titan 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 80000 miles
my husband used a slim jim when he lost his keys. He used it on the driver side door. Then the doorwould not open. I tookthe door panel of and put a cord back in place and then the door would open fine. He then tried to lock the doo and unlock it with the key later and then it would not open again. this happens every time i put the cord back. the door works until u lock it!
