Air Conditioning problem
1994 Nissan Sentra 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

I have a 1994 Nissan Sentra LEC and it has this wierd problem whenever I'm driving on the freeway and hit 80-100kph I can smell smoke inside the car. I can even see the smoke sometimes and many times I have to roll down the windows to let the smoke out. The funny thing is that the smoke only appears whenever I'm driving 80 kph or above and it disappears if I'm driving below that speed. I've taken my car to 4 different mechanics and aircon specialists but not one can find the cause of the problem and fix it. They tried putting a sealant on the air intake (the trap doorlike vent beneath the dashboard) but the smoke still manages to get in. It seems to be coming from the aircon vents or maybe the flooring. I'm not sure. It's very irritating and embarassing. Could anyone please help me find the cause so that we can fix it. Thanks.

The color of the smoke is white or a bit grayish and it smells like the exhaust fumes. Before I thought it's the ATF because the car's power steering was leaking before. I got that fixed but the smoke is still there whenever I drive fast. I also noticed that the smoke coming out of my exhaust pipe is white whenever I'm driving fast and I'm on the 5th gear. I just had the whole engine overhauled about 2 years ago.

Best bet is to pop the hood and have someone give the engien some gas and try to check for exhaust coming from the manifolds or exhaust piping.
