1997 Nissan Primera bumpy acceleration

1997 Nissan Primera 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 100000 miles
When I accelerate the car shudders like it has no traction. Once speed reaches 40km/h the shudder goes away. Is this a transmission fault or suspension?
