Nissan Pathfinder Repair Question

White/greyish smoke after start up
Hello folks:
I have a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder Chilkoot (138.000 km)
Lately i had noticed, that start up has slightly different sound than usually (not as smooth) and than I had noticed white/greyish smoke from exhaust
which lasted about 1 minute. Than it was OK. It smells like gas/emission. Any idea what it might be? Thanks Pauljavascript:emoticon(':(')[/i]
