2004 Nissan Murano No Power when I hit the gas

2004 Nissan Murano 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 128000 miles
The vehicle will start fine, when I put it into drive, and hit the gas nothing happens...no movement on the rpm gague. I can then put it into park and turn the vehicle off and turn it back on and it works fine. It happens randomly and there is no pattern to how often it does it or when.
