STEAMING

2000 Nissan Maxima

2000 Nissan Maxima. Mileage: approx. 138,500
I've had the thermostat replaced in my vehicle twice within a 10 month period. I recently had it replaced the second time about 3 weeks ago. Now whenever I turn the engine off, I notice steam coming from under my hood that has a horrible burning smell and the car is NOT running hot. I can also smell the odor IN the car. The steam leaves a brown residue on my hood. When I open the hood to see where it may be coming from, it's coming from an area that is behind the engine over on the passenger side of the car. I've taken it to a local repair shop because I thought something might be leaking. They did a pressure check and said they couldn't find what was wrong. I have a small child and hate driving him around with a car like this. What could be wrong? PLEASE HELP!
