Possible CV joint axel problem

I have a 2003 Nissan MAxima se auto with 71,000 miles on, Nromal 60,000 mile service performed. Had grinding and rattling from front end several months ago. Diagnosed as front struts by Nissan so I spent $800 to fix it. Problem still exists. The problem is whne I am almost at a stop and want to get going again while turning right. Grinding and a ratle still there and also, it sometimes gets stuck momentarily in the lower gear and then jumps out of.
As a note, Nissan also recently fixed an Axel seal leak.
