1998 Nissan Maxima 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 155000 miles

I have a '98 Maxima with approx. 155k miles on it. Up until a couple of weeks ago, the car was fine, but a week or so ago, I was coming to a stop in a parking lot and the car stalled and died. It cranked back up with no problem, but has been doing the same thing ever since, but only when it wants to, without rhyme or reason. I have cleaned out the throttle bottle and replaces the fuel filter. I have had it tested for codes at two separate auto parts stores with no help, citing that there are no codes because no CEL comes on during the time it's stalling, it only comes on after it has stalled out. Many people have suggested the IAC, MAP, MAF, vacuum leaks, fuel pump, or spark plugs. Any clue as to what it could be or any sort of tests I could run for all of those components? I'm scratching my head here..
