1994 Nissan Maxima problems starting it the rain

One day it was raining & the car would'nt start? When I checked the plugs they were wet with oil and smelled go gas. I wipped them off and the auto started. What could be causing this problem?

Oil on the plugs is a valve seal leak. Change the fuel filter run a additive in the fuel to clean the injectors and keep an eye on the oil level on the stick if the problem occurs again you may need to have the heads redone.
