Nissan Altima Idling

I have a Nissan Altima 2001 Special Edition, approx. 72,000 miles. Today the car started idling rough, almost coming to a stop. When the a/c is started, the car idles better. Not sure what is going on.

Thanks,

Have the computer scan for OBD2 codes.

I don't have a scanner to use to scan for codes.

No scanner or code reader-buy a chilton book for it and check the following: idle speed control valve, throttle position sensor, throttle position switch.

BTW is the CEL/MIL/SES etc On-while idling

When did it last seen a major tune-up
