My Nissan Altima shudders and then stalls when shifted into either reverse, drive, second or first. In Park or Neutral the engine runs fine, no wrning lights. Is this a transmission problem?

In 1997 models there were about 60,000 vehicles produced with bad shif solinoids, they were supposed to have been fixed, but you might need a new one, here's the info...Call 1-800-NISSAN1
and have your VIN ready...might get it done free, might not!
