Loss of power and sputtering
Engine Performance problem
1987 Nissan 300ZX 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 198000 miles
The car starts and idles fine but once your driving down the road a couple of miles it starts sputtering and jerking. If you give it gas it bogs and slows. If you push in the clutch the car calms down to idle and in a couple a seconds its normal again for a couple of miles then the cycle will start over again.
It acts like it's starving for fuel (fuel filter or pump) but if you bring it to idle it will race to red line again as if nothing happened. I assume it is a sensor I just don't know which one.
