Need help but have no one to help me

Hello I have '82 Pontiac and I'm not exactly mechanical taught. I am in a wheelchair and bought this car to fix up and show others that don't necessarily have to drive a van. Unfortunately my mechanic passed away before he could help me or even tell me how to start it. It had 305 changed crank to 350 with a 400 turbo trans. I power in the dash but not to turn over or dash gauges register. Car is on non op but I don't have money as I have a home mortgage and electric bill over $3,500 left by my parents. Please any help would very much appreciated.

You will have to get under car and check fusible links at starter if you can do this. One may be burnt up. You need a test light to test on one end and where it connects you'll see them. They are available at auto parts.
