I just purchased this car from someone, and I was told the spedometer needle had fallen off. How do I repair that? Is it an easy fix, or will I have to take my car to a mechanic to have that fixed? I am on an extremely limited budget, so I cannot handle costly repairs.

Given the age of the car you should have no trouble finding some in the salvage yards. Just transplant the entire instrument cluster. Usually the pointers fall off because the speedometer assembly is coming apart and two pieces rub on each other. That causes the pointer to bounce up and down wildly until the glue lets go.

Do a search for "Pull-A-Part" and see if there's a yard near you. Parts there are very inexpensive.
