My Vw polo 1.4 2000 judders whenever I cold start it. It judders when I shift into second gear and 3rd gear. But it eventually its fine.

My accelerator pedal is incredible low for a car. Its lows I have seen in a car. One can even say its very loose and may need tightening. Could this be causing the above problem?

If not do I have 2 issues in my hand? A loose accelerator pedal and a juddering car?

Do you have any warning lights on the dash? It sounds to me like a problem with the oxygen sensors running the car lean when its cold. Try letting the car run and warm up to operating temp before driving and see if that helps. If so id have plugs and oxygen sensors replaced on the car. As for the pedal that shouldn't have anything to do with juddering. Crawl under the wheel with a light and look at the pedal and see if it seems loose or if you see any broken pieces. Tug on it. It should only move in one direction, toward the floor and back again
