My battery light on my geo comes on when I start my car but I have a new battery that I got 3 months ago I have done the usual alternator test when I got my battery for it by taking off one post and seeing if it would still start it did run. My issue is 1st the battery light cones on but goes off once I go for 40 mph for a set period of time and 2nd once it runs for about 15 min all lights in my dash comes on and the headlights will slowly dim out until my car shuts off and I need a jump to get it started this is my second battery I got but I dont think its that. Could it be my alternator or another issue?

When was the last time the belt and tensioner was replaced if ever? That may be your problem. Also check charging system, autoparts/tire stores do for free. Clean battery terminal ends as well.

Have a pro look at this if you don't know what i'm talking about then you can't fix it either. The belt hooks to engine and turns the alternator. Which CHARGES your Battery
