I have a 1999 Eclipse auto transmission, 127251 miles 2.0 DOHC

The problem: I replaced the plugs in Dec 2006 again 3 weeks ago and again 3 days ago.
The service engine light was on when I had the plugs replaced 3 weeks ago the code said #2 misfire.
The plug had carbon on it)
The car was stuttering and occasionally backfiring.
After the plugs were changed the light was off but still stuttering and backfiring.
The light came on again 2 to 3 days later.
Went back had the codes read same thing #2 misfire.
Changed plugs and wires 3 days ago light back on . Diagnostic test showed once again #2 misfire code PO302.
No one can tell me what is causing this . Any clues? :(

Have you changed your coil? That can cause your problem your having. If you know someone who has the car like yours swap out coil and see if that fixes your problem. Your engine could be out of time also. Check the coil first.
