MITSUBSHI ADVENTURE OVERHEATING
2000 Mitsubishi Other
Hi, I am an American missionary living in the Philippines. I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Adventure with 2.0G liter engine, automatic and has 120,600 kilometers. I bought it new and haven't had much problem with it until recently. When I am in heavy traffic in Manila and the AC is on it begins to heat up. Just after a few minutes in traffic the temp. gage begins to rise. I have it serviced regularlly at the dealership where I bought it. I have taken it there several times for this problem with no avail. They have taken out the thermostat and yesterday took off the radiator and had it rodded out at the shop. There are no leaks so I assume it's not the water pump. The dealership put almost pure coolant in and said they torked the head bolts. Yesterday, they said the next thing was to check the head gasket. But if it's not leaking water or compression would this be a problem. I really don't want to spend the money if this could not be the source. Do you have any suggestions. The fan also has been checked and suppose to be okay. I am at the end of my rope. Please help me if you can. Thanks in advance. Steve
