I have a 1995 Montero with the 3-5 Liter engine with 248,000 miles. It runs great. I started it up the other day and have a severe fuel leak. It seems to be coming from above the engine in the back. I can't see any leaking from the top of the engine or anythin from the intake manifold side. Do I nee to remove the manifold to look. It is a pretty leak and I don't thinl I should drive it to a shop. Any ideas?

Hi sgnelson,

Thank you for the donation.

If the leak is bad, you should not even attampt to start the engine as any sparks leaking from the spark plug wires can be catasthropic.

If the leak is not visible, then you would have to remove the manifold to get a visual and it is inevitble as it would still have to be removed to facilitate repairs.
