Transmission filter change

I just got a transmission fluid flush a couple of weeks ago but they never changed the filter. How do I replace the filter and get a correct reading on how much fluid to put back in?

It looks like this vehicle uses a spin on filter, much like the engine oil filter. I'm not sure how they could have done a proper flush without changing the filter, but it is simply a spin off the old one, lube the new seal with old trans fluid and spin new one on hand tight plus about 1/2 turn. Fluid loss should be minimal, you may need to top it off

The tranny filter is located behind the tranny pan of the transmission. You will need to drain all of the transmission fluid before you take the pan off

I took the tranny pan off of my 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage. Its not there, nor is there a place for it. Where specifically is the transmission filter
