My car is extremely hard to start in mornings especially after having sat over the weekend. Once it starts it has no power while in gear and backfires until it seems to blow whatever it bogging it up out then runs fine rest of day. What causes this?

IT could be a few things. HAs the check engine light come on? WHen was the last tune up? Has fuel pump pressure been tested? Fuel filter?
